June 11- “From Rivers to Wealth, First American Military Access to the West”
Join us on June 11th at 6 pm in the St. Louis Carousel to discover the significance Fort Belle Fontaine played in the early years in the West from its Spanish origins to leading the American frontier. One of the key commanders of Fort Belle Fontaine was Daniel Bissell. Saint Louis County Parks Educator, Jeffery Edison, will discuss Fort Belle Fontaine and Bissell’s role and the building of his property Franklinville Farm.

June 18- “Frederick Bates the State Builder”
On June 18th at 6 pm in the St. Louis Carousel, explore the life of Frederick Bates and the role he played in the building of the State of Missouri with the Faust Park Cultural Site Manager, Jesse Francis.

June 25- “Jefferson Barracks: The Key to All Points West”
Join us on June 25th at 6 pm at the St. Louis Carousel with the Cultural Site Manager of Jefferson Barracks Park, Thomas Hoff. We will hear an overview of the role and significance of Jefferson Barracks as a United States military installation along with the eventual incorporation as part of the Saint Louis County Parks and Recreation system.
