Speaker(s) Bio:
Araceli “Sally” Perez-Ramos has worked within Career Services for 18 years, overseeing programming initiatives and advising undergraduate and graduate students, internship programming, and marketing and communications outreach. Sally works at Wake Forest University School of Business within the Market Readiness and Employment department as an Associate Director advising students in the Master of Science in Business Analytics and Decision Analytics programs. Sally has become a subject matter expert for the department in working with international students while championing inclusivity initiatives, such as coordinating the first-ever Latinx conference at Wake Forest University in the Spring of 2024 and co-leading the first-ever international student conference in the Spring of 2025. The School of Business awarded Sally Employee of the Month in October 2024, recognizing her success and collaboration within the university.
Sally was currently awarded the DEI & Engagement Fellow for 2025 by the Cooperative Education & Internship Association, an honor given once a year by the national organization. She is also the STEM Affinity Group Co-Lead for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). She serves on the Staff Advisory Council for the Communications Committee at Wake Forest University and the Community Engagement & Belonging Planning Committee within the School of Business. Past leadership roles include serving as the past President of the Texas Cooperative Education & Internship Association, serving the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities (SoACE) as the Local Arrangements Chair 2024 Conference Committee, as Marketing Chair for the 2023 Conference Committee, the former Chair for the Technology as well as the Small Colleges and Universities Knowledge Groups. She also has been highlighted as a guest speaker multiple times with Indeed’s Job Search Academy webinars. Sally also serves as a Community Research for Cornell University, a two-year National Science Foundation-funded research project investigating barriers and enablers for Autistic STEM job seekers during interviews, conducting in-depth research to identify factors impacting interview success and informing best practices for inclusive hiring processes.
Previously, Sally worked at career services offices for The University of Texas-Pan American and St. Edward’s University. Sally earned her Master’s in College Student Development from St. Edward’s University and her undergraduate in Political Science at the University of Texas-Pan American. She is originally from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas and resides in Winston-Salem, NC, with her husband and two black cats.
