Piece for Peace Movement ArtWalk

Kick off the 2025 international Piece for Peace movement with a mural walk! Join artist Sydney Duarte and ArtWalks CLT for a guided ArtWalk on Friday, May 16, at 6:30 pm.

What to expect for the Piece for Peace ArtWalk:

• Explore Luminous Lane murals with the curator of the over 45 murals and learn more about the story behind some of the murals
• Hear from artist Sydney Duarte about the Piece for Peace movement and see the 2024 murals created as part of the inaugural celebration
• Be engaged and active with an international art community and support your local art community

This 1 hour and 15-minute ArtWalk begins and ends at Luminous Lane. Gather on the sidewalk at the 3rd Street entrance around 6:25 pm. Light rail access is from the Blue Line at either the Transit Center or Convention Center with a short walk. On street paid parking is available through the Park Mobile app.

The ArtWalk is the Kick-Off event for the Piece for Peace Movement Event on Saturday, May 17 from 12-4 at the TAOH Outdoor Gallery. Saturday attendees will enjoy a diverse linup of 20 artists painting live, new t-shirt launch and apparel design station with the 704 Shop, a spray painting workshop, a wildflower and tree planting workshop, coloring stations, food trucks, music, lawn games, and more all while exploring the vibrant space of the TAOH Outdoor Gallery. It is a day dedicated to art, community, creativity, and peace and everyone is welcome to explore, connect, and celebrate Charlotte's artistic spirit. Saturday, May 17 is a free, family event, and everyone is welcome.

Sydney Duarte is a Charlotte and Brisband based artist, well known for her murals, art activism, yoga classes and her positive spirite and energy. Duarte and her company Duarte Designs have murals all over the city. In addition, Duarte and her partner Treazy are painting murals around the world and transforming Charlotte with color.
