Laugh Until You Cry: Comedy That's Serious(ly) Funny 

Stand Up Comedian Skylar Schock hosts a one of a kind evening of stand-up comedy and a follow up discussion with Kim Honeycutt aimed at raising awareness and providing resources for the 1 in 5 Americans who are affected by mental health issues.

 Laugh Until You Cry is a show created for all fans of stand up comedy and those interested in expanding the dialogue around mental health. Grab a friend  and get ready for a special night. A variety of Charlotte's best local comics will perform their sets and stay for a talk back to round out the evening.

The concept for Laugh Until You Cry was awarded Special Recognition from Congress when Skylar presented it at the Inspiration, Innovation, and Impact Conference in Las Vegas and was the topic of her recent Tedx talk.

Kim Honeycutt graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina. After years of working in secular facilities, Kim wanted to be more open about her life as a Christ-centered, recovered alcoholic. As a result, she founded Peer in Psychotherapy Center in 2005, a Christ-centered psychotherapy organization open to anyone seeking emotional healing. 

As a psychotherapist, Kim provides individual services at her Huntersville office. In addition to providing therapy, she also has been published in several magazines including My School Rocks, Static, and Charlotte Woman. Her speaking engagements include TEDx-Charlotte, Myers Park High School, Substance Abuse Prevention Services Center, Providence High School, Independence Hill Baptist Church, Mosaic Church, Grace Crossing Church, Grace Charlotte Church, Grace Covenant Church Women’s Ministry, icuTalks, Watershed Church, Overflow Addictions Ministry, and Columbia College. In addition, she has been a guest on several podcasts, including The Church Needs Therapy, The Collected, Rethinking God with Tacos, and The Relentless Podcast. Currently, Kim is on the teaching team at Watershed Church.
