Come celebrate the SummerStage student performance of Shakespeare classics in association with Shepherd Shakespeare Company!
Inspired by the repertory model of making theater, student actors will perform the two short Shakespeare works in rotation: Much Ado About Nothing and Julius Caesar.
About Much Ado About Nothing
Love, lies, and witty banter take center stage in Shakespeare’s sparkling comedy Much Ado About Nothing. The play follows two couples: Claudio and Hero, who fall in love faster than you can say “I do,” and Beatrice and Benedick, who would rather wrestle porcupines than admit their feelings for each other. With meddling matchmakers, mistaken identities, and a bumbling constable named Dogberry who’s definitely trying his best, this classic tale proves that love might be a battlefield—but it’s also a whole lot of fun.
About Julius Caesar
Power, politics, and betrayal—Rome is buzzing with it. In Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, the beloved leader has big ambitions… maybe too big. Some of his so-called friends think the only way to protect the Republic is to remove Caesar from power—permanently. What follows is a whirlwind of secret plots, stirring speeches, and shifting alliances. With one of the most famous lines in theatre—“Et tu, Brute?”—this political thriller shows just how messy things can get when ego and empire collide.
