Hippies & Cowboys will capture attention through their skillful blend of country music, Southern rock and soul. The band’s current momentum out of Nashville, TN is the result of their high energy live shows and soaring vocals from frontman, Aaron Spalding.
At 23, Aaron Sparling made it to Nashville from Kokomo, IN. In Music City, he connected quickly to like-minded musicians and music-biz execs. He became the driving force behind Hippies and Cowboys and is, hands down, one of the best rock singers in the business right now.
When asked what drives him, Sparling says, “The fans. Pure and simple. Seeing the joy that music brings to people and feeling that excitement of creation...it gives me a way to express my feelings or opinions freely. I love to see the enjoyment on people’s faces when I sing a song, that feeling of amazement, joy, and high energy.”
The timeless sound of Hippies and Cowboys generates a universal appeal, but what so many of their fans have come to know and love about them is the once in a lifetime experience of the electric energy emanating from the stage when they perform. This is a band you don’t want to miss!

The Garden of Eden is an electrifying, soul touching, and effortlessly authentic rock band. From blues to funk, psychedelic to hard rock, folk to indie, The Garden of Eden puts a unique yet classic twist on the sound and songwriting in rock music under one consistent umbrella. The ensemble pulls an artistic inspiration from rock music’s golden age; Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, the Eagles and other classic acts.
The quartet was founded by singer/songwriter, Scotty Chapman in 2021. Scotty grew up in Indiana and studied music at Ball State University, though after two short years in college, his itch to pursue a bigger dream pushed him to move to Music City. In 2017, Scotty moved to Nashville to pursue a path in music. Living the artist lifestyle he always dreamed of; living out of his van, couch surfing, living day to day and making it by from the guitar off his back, Scotty spent many years searching for the right members to form the music he believed in. Putting together small shows in East Nashville at venues like the East Room, the 5 Spot, and the Basement, he began to find his place in the Nashville rock community.
Chapman played in many different bands and with many different musicians to establish himself in a new city, from playing bass with guitarist, Liam Kelly, who has performed with Gyasi and Barns Courtney, to playing with Steve Forrest, former drummer of major artist, Placebo. After playing in multiple bands and hosting shows, he met Dustin McKee from the Reveal. Scotty and Dustin put together an EP of music which they recorded to release that summer in 2018. The EP “Catch Me If You Can” features 5 songs Scotty wrote during his college days at Ball State. In 2020, Scotty set out to record more music during the halt and pause in the world at the time. Despite not yet finding a consistent band of musicians, however, he sought out to invite his favorite players from around the scene to track on the songs. Scotty released 5 tracks as singles featuring players such as Ricky Dover Jr, current guitarist for Grace Potter, Dustin McKee from the Reveal, and Christian Northover from the Weird Sisters.
In 2021 as the world opened up again, Scotty set out on a 30 date solo acoustic tour of southern US to promote his new releases. After a successful run of shows and a growing fanbase, his return back to Nashville landed him some local residency sets in the downtown live music circuit. At this point Chapman was still on the hunt for the best musicians to form a tight group and by performing regularly at local Nashville hotspots, it attracted an old hometown friend and drummer, Jeffery Lageveen to join him and plant a seed in the garden. Jeff grew up in Indiana like Scotty and the two had always set out to work together, and finally the time was right to join forces. Jeff studied drums and percussion at Indiana University and has played in nearly every band in Lafayette, IN. In Jeff’s Indiana years, he has opened up for Blind Melon, played with Coven on a 27 date tour of Europe and is an accomplished drum teacher.
Shortly after Jeff joined, momentum was building and it caught the ear of Nashville guitar virtuoso, Prince Parker. Prince is a self-taught guitarist from Mississippi and has an undoubted gift to play the guitar. His Jimi Hendrix-esque flare and epic, jaw dropping guitar solos put him in a category by himself compared to other guitarists in Nashville. In 2024, he joined Nashville’s rising star, Grace Bowers and the Hodge Podge and has been seen on an appearance of Jimmy Kimmel Live in August, 2024. On bass guitar, Nashville native Kaiyan Blue showed up to an audition and landed himself in the garden. Kai played with artist Cordell Winter before the Garden and the young 21 year old is making a massive footprint as the newest and final piece to the unit.
You can find the band performing regularly at venues in Nashville like The Basement, Snitch, Acme and many others. The band also travels midwest America to perform and has played in cities including: Knoxville, Asheville, Louisville, Lexington, St Louis, Memphis, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Denver, Tampa and more. In the summer of 2024 the band performed at Murphy Spring Music Festival, Wisconsin State Fair, and One Love Music Fest. Furthermore, Scotty and local promoter Danny Shaw of Eat Sleep Rock host the annual Led Zeppelin Tribute show at the iconic Basement East in Nashville.
The band continues to perform for audiences through each show, growing their fanbase to greater numbers. The Garden is currently working on debut recordings with top Nashville producer, Kent Wells and William Blake. They look forward to sharing a debut release as a group.
