EXPLORE: Beginner Guitar Workshops is a 4-week course hosted by Dear Soul Music Co. sponsored by ASC Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County.

In this free course, adults are invited to explore and deepen their guitar playing in a group environment with instruction by Fort Mill-based session musician & studio owner, Chris Suter:

With over 20 years of experience, Chris is a seasoned musician known for his versatility across genres and dedication to both live performance and studio work. His passion for music and continual evolution as a musician, has led him to opening his own recording studio, Ginger Cat Sounds, where he revels in collaboration with a wide range of artists, bringing soulful, dynamic energy to every project he takes on.

This course provides foundational lessons & exercises while playing in a friendly group setting.

ARSENA (formerly Arsena Schroeder) is an alternative R&B, pop, and soul-influenced singer-songwriter celebrated for her heartfelt melodies and multi-instrumental artistry. ARSENA’s musical roots run deep. Her father, the lead singer behind “Dance to the Drummers Beat (1978)”—sampled by icons like Michael Jackson and N.W.A.—not only shaped R&B legends like Monica but also influenced ARSENA’s artistic evolution.

Week 4, Guest Instructor, Brosnan Granger, will help to culminate the 4 week experience.

Brosnan Granger is a musician/artist native to the Charlotte area with over 20 years experience playing electric, acoustic, and bass guitar. Majority of his career has been focused on supporting other artists to bring their vision to life, but in 2022 he officially emerged as a solo artist by the name of "Bridgeon". His genre bending sound blends Rock/Heavy Metal, Blues, Soul and cinematic sounds to create an ambient vibe while telling a story or conveying an emotion or concept. Think if Jimmy Hendrix and Carlos Santana collaborate on a movie score about an epic adventure. “I’d like to think of my sound as Cinematic Soul”, he says.
