Local Nomad is the project of singer-songwriter Michael Desmond, blending the 1970s warmth of Paul Simon with the pop ingenuity of Gnarls Barkley. His music fuses soulful vocals, shimmering synths, and luminous grooves into a sound that’s both nostalgic and modern.

Whistler is an indie rock band from Charlotte, North Carolina, formed by longtime collaborators Will Royson and Paul Brazell shortly after they both moved to the city. After over a decade of making music together, the two began writing songs for Whistler, leading to their debut EP, Everywhere But Here. Known for washed-out guitars, engaging rhythms, and soft vocals, Whistler’s music reflects themes of childhood innocence, navigating differences with loved ones, and the loss of close friends.
