Join us at the Juneteenth Parade & Festival

Please join us on Friday, June 20th at 11:30 AM – 4 PM at Slack Plaza for the WV Juneteenth Festival! KCDW member Karen Williams is one of the organizers! Let’s show our support for our local NAACP, especially in light of Governor Morrisey’s awful decision to not recognize this important federal holiday. KCDW will have a table at the event and walk in the parade. Thank you to KCDW member Pam Van Horn for securing our spot!

KCDW Supporter Robin Godfrey is helping with the parade. He advises: Anyone committing to walking in the parade, will not have more than two hours in the whole thing, door-to-door. We’ll meet at the Martin Luther King Center on Donnelly Street, Friday, 11 AM. Parade kicks off at 11:30 AM and only goes 5-6 blocks. Participants don’t have to do anything except show up. Parking: I suggest meters on Laidley Street between Washington and Lee, or Summers Street between Washington and Lee, or the parking garage across from the library.
