Water is never a dry topic, and we’d like to prove it with a splashing good time. Join us for the South Metro Water Festival from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock.
This free community event — the first ever in this region — will make a splash with interactive demonstrations and exhibits that showcase everything water. Learn how your toilet works and how to fix a leaky flapper. Discover where your water comes from — and why it’s important. Explore the watershed and how it shapes our region. Ask experts how to ColoradoScape your yard with the right design and the right plants. Find out how to use your water meter to check for leaks.
Expect education and exploration for kids and adults alike. Activities will include science experiments, hands-on water demos, a foam party and other engaging ways to “wet” your appetite. Food vendors will also be on site, so come hungry.
Following the festival, from 6 to 8 p.m., Castle Rock Water will host the Come for the Water, Stay for the Beer after-party. Enjoy live music from Grey Rails and purchase local beer and other refreshments. Booths will make way for entertainment and a chance to celebrate Colorado’s water-wise community.
