McHenry County NOW hosts JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION!
Monday June 16, 2025
6pm - 8pm
Juneteenth, observed on June 19, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in the United States were informed of their freedom - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Come join us at the Cary Area Public Library (meeting room) for an evening filled with music, food samplings, and most importantly, community.
It's a time to uplift Black history, celebrate resilience, and stand in joyful solidarity as a community. Let's commemorate Juneteenth and celebrate freedom together.
This in-person event promises to be a joyful gathering for all ages. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn, connect, and honor this important day in history.
See you there!
