You BELONG outside. Join us for the 8th annual Refuge Outdoor Festival!
Refuge Outdoor Festival is a 3-day, 2-night immersive camping experience curated for BIPOC, allies, and outdoor lovers of all identities. New to exploring the outdoors? Expert in all things outdoors? Just want to kick it? This event is designed for you! We design our festival to create a safer space for emotional and physical safety, accessibility, connection, joy, and belonging. You’ll find opportunities to build community through outdoor recreation, art, music, and conversations in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Come out for a weekend of exploration, laughter, and shared experiences. Expect to leave the weekend rejuvenated and connected, long after the campfire fades.
What to Expect:
🚴 Outdoor Adventures – Explore with guided hikes, biking, and other recreational activities.
🎭 Workshops & Creative Expression – Engage in hands-on activities celebrating culture, movement, and nature.
🌿 Healing & Wellness Spaces – Unwind with yoga, sound baths, breathwork, and healing practices.
🚀 Youth Summit – Workshops and activities designed exclusively for youths ages 14-19 where they can come together in a fun and nurturing environment.
🎶 Live Music & Art – Enjoy dynamic live performances, inspiring art, curated films and of course, our silent disco.
🌱 Family & Beginner-Friendly – Welcoming all levels of outdoor experience, with activities for everyone.
🔥 Campfire Conversations – Connect through storytelling, deep chats, laughter and shared experiences (plus s’mores).
🛍️ The Market – Shop BIPOC makers, artists, and food vendors while connecting with community organizations and resources.
Lodging & Camping Options:
Field Camping – Bring your own tent and set up in our open community space. These sites are walk-in only with parking just outside the festival gates. Limited wheelbarrows will be available to help transport your gear.
Private Car Camping – Park near your campsite.
RV or Campervan – Limited spots available for RV parking with electrical hookup and water.
Glampsite – Enjoy camping without the hassle! Your site comes with a pre-set tent, cozy cots, chairs, and a table—just bring your pillow.
Yurts* – A circular structure that sleeps six with electricity, deck, picnic table, and fire ring. These sites are walk-in only and require crossing the park’s 500 foot suspension bridge. *
*Yurt options will be released in June.
Hotel – Not ready to sleep outside or flying in and need a place to stay before or after the event? We’ve partnered with Fairfield Inn Issaquah to provide a discount to the Refuge Fest community. This hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the campgrounds. Grab your room today!
