Each student will receive their own journal, which you are welcome to personalize. Today’s journaling exercise will last 10-15 minutes. You may write, draw, or color as part of this activity.

Journaling Topic: "Our Biggest Dream"
“The reason I’ve chosen this topic is because what we’re doing right now is my biggest dream: sharing my passion for painting with others. This is something I aim to do on a larger scale. The emotion conveyed through abstract art is uniquely powerful, and I want to convey that experience to you.”

“I’m Stephen Williams, an Abstract Expressionist artist. I love the freedom of expression that painting offers, and I’m excited to share my passion with you today.

Abstract art does not seek to represent reality; instead, it creates its effects through shapes, forms, colors, and textures. I’m drawn to abstract art for its unrecognizable forms, unique patterns, and the freedom of mark-making. It often features spontaneous splatters, colorful shapes, and designs. The style is characterized by gestural brush strokes or marks, and a sense of spontaneity.”
