Chapters Book Swap & Bookish Group

Come and meet lovely bookish folk and swap books you no longer want for ones you do, while enjoying a yummy snack and drink from the wonderful cafe at Chapters Coffee & Books. You may even find there's a sneaky discount on books in the bookshop for attendees...

This, as with all of Bookshop Crawl UK's events, is a low pressure, socially antisocial way to meet other people in the local area who also love books. There will be an informal chat about whatever books we've been reading lately, where people will be free to share or not as they prefer, and talk up any books they've brought along to swap.

Children are welcome to come too, and we'll have drawing and storytelling activities available for those who'd like them. Chapters also has loads of games they can play and books to read if they get bored of the book chat.

Tickets are free but we advise booking as space is limited, and if you'd like to donate a few pounds it will all go directly to supporting the 2026 Canterbury Children's Literature Festival.
