We’re excited to announce a special pop-up series of full-day kids’ camps this August at the historic NWMP Barracks - just in time for summer fun! These camps are a last-minute opportunity to engage young explorers with hands-on learning, outdoor adventures, and creative activities in a small group setting.
Each day features a unique theme designed to inspire curiosity and discovery:
Camp Themes & Dates:
🍃 Bow Valley Nature (August 20)
Discover the local ecosystem with nature walks, wildlife tracking, and crafts inspired by the plants and animals of the Bow Valley.
🏛 Museum Explorers (August 21)
Step back in time to uncover Canmore’s fascinating history through artifacts, photos, and detective-style games.
🪨 Earth Detectives (August 22)
Dig into geology and explore rocks, fossils, and the earth beneath us with fun, hands-on activities.

🕘 Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
📍 Location: NWMP Barracks Heritage Site, 609 8 St, Canmore
👧 Ages: 6 to 10 years old
👥 Group size: Limited to 6 participants per day
💵 Cost: Free, by donation (donations help support museum programs and collections)
Because these are pop-up camps, spots are limited and registration is required in advance. Please register by August 15 to ensure sufficient registration and your child’s spot.
