Leveraging Innovation & Technology for transformative tourism
Hosted by the MIT Sloan Africa Business Club, in partnership with the Theodore Roosevelt Africa Sustainable Development Initiative, this high-level convening brings together African tourism stakeholders and U.S partners to explore strategic opportunities in cultural, eco-, agrotourism through the lens of the Roosevelt Africa Trail - a bold cross-continental initiative inspired by President Theodore Roosevelt's 1909/10 Smithsonian African Expedition.
The program features panel discussions, innovation, showcases and curated networking sessions, highlighting how historical narratives, emerging technologies, and community-driven tourism models can drive cross-continental collaboration, support conservation goals, and unlock mutually beneficial tourism and investment opportunities between Africa & the United States.
With a diverse audience including investors, diaspora leaders, tour operators, tech innovators, policymakers, and students from institutions such as MIT, Harvard, Tufts, Northeastern & Boston University, this forum offers a powerful platform to catalyze partnerships and shape the future of sustainable, innovation-led tourism development across continents.
