About the Event
What does freedom feel like when spoken across generations? How do Black artists define liberation, hold joy, and carry the lessons of those before them?
"5 Burning Questions" is an intergenerational conversation between Black artists, writers, and educators exploring the complexities of freedom, the rituals of joy, and the ongoing pursuit of liberation. From ancestral memory to radical creativity, these voices come together to ask and answer the questions that keep our fire lit.
This event will feature a dynamic panel of Black creatives—writers, musicians, visual artists, and cultural workers—sharing stories, practices, and visions that bridge generations.
This year's event features Wendell Pierce, Dr. Imani Perry, Andre Holland, Kai Giovanni, Laura James, Joie Lee, and Lovely Hoffman.
Student moderators include Michael Torto and Elyse Martin Smith of Harvard University.
