Come explore the history of Bowness Park which at one time was referred to as “Calgary’s Coney Island!” Through this tour you will learn how Bowness Park came to be and discover how and why people have and continue to visit this beloved park.
WALK NOTES: breaks offered along the way, will use speakers/voice amplification.
MEETING SPOT: Meet at Bowness Park Picnic Site #3. This picnic site is in the Northwest corner of the parking lot nearby the public washrooms.
WALK LEADER: Anna Benko (she/her), is a Cultural Landscape Coordinator with Calgary Parks & Open Spaces. In her role she works to create meaningful experiences that help visitors learn and connect with the history of different parks across the City of Calgary.
