About the event

National Indigenous Peoples Day at Heritage Park
Celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day at Heritage Park with a full day of community-led programming, rooted in tradition and open to all. The centrepiece of the day is a vibrant Pow Wow — a powerful gathering that brings together dancers, drummers and community in celebration of culture, identity and connection.

Traditional Pow Wow Celebration: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Experience the energy and tradition of an Indigenous Pow Wow — a cultural gathering that includes competitive and intertribal dancing, traditional music and deep-rooted community ties.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, folding chairs, and non-alcoholic drinks or snacks. Seating is festival-style and first-come.

THIS YEAR'S EVENT FEATURES:
🪶 Dance Specials: Grass Dance, Tiny Tots Dance, Hat and Boot Special, Potato Dance and a surprise feature.
🪶 Babyflats: A celebrated youth drumming group, made up of boys ages 6 to 13.
🪶 Masters of Ceremonies: Hosts of APTN's The Other Side, Cheif Lee Crowchild, Kiit Okii and Naomi Eyahpaise, along Elder Clarence Wolfleg Sr. (Miiksika'am) from the Siksika Nation.
🪶 Traditional Feast: A complimentary traditional feast of Bison Burgers will be offered to the first 1,000 guests — an opportunity to connect through shared food and conversation.
