Join us for a delightful day exploring the unique world of honey wines at Spirit Hills Winery, a family-owned, sustainable winery located just outside Calgary. This event combines a scenic drive, an exclusive winery tour, and a tasting of their handcrafted wines. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just love a beautiful setting, this event is a must for the season.
Itinerary for July 19, 2025
10:00 AM – Meet-Up at Shawnessy Shopping Centre (South Calgary)
Location: Park near the Tim Hortons in the southwest corner of the lot.
Quick introductions, route overview, and distribution of maps or GPS links.
Ensure everyone has a full tank of gas and is ready for the drive.
10:30 AM – Departure for Spirit Hills Winery
Start the convoy heading west on Highway 22X toward the scenic Foothills area.
Enjoy a leisurely 45-minute drive through rolling countryside and beautiful views.
11:15 AM – Arrival at Spirit Hills Winery
Park in the winery’s designated parking area (plenty of space for our Minis).
Take a moment to admire the rural landscape and snap some group photos before the tour begins.
11:30 AM – Winery Tour
Embark on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Spirit Hills Winery.
Learn about their unique process of crafting honey wines using traditional techniques and sustainable practices.
12:15 PM – Wine Tasting Experience
Sample a variety of their wines, such as the signature Saskatoon Berry wine or their floral mead.
Hear the stories behind each wine from the passionate winery team.
1:00 PM – Light Lunch and Social Time
Bring your own light picnic or purchase small bites from the winery (if available).
Enjoy lunch outdoors with fellow club members while soaking up the serene setting.
2:00 PM – Free Time for Wine Purchases and Photos
Browse the gift shop to purchase wines to take home.
Capture more photos with your MINI and the picturesque backdrop of the winery.
2:30 PM – Departure for Calgary
Regroup in the parking area and begin the return drive.
Optional pit stop at Granary Road or Millarville for coffee, snacks, or further exploring.
3:30 PM – Arrival Back in Calgary
Arrive back at Shawnessy Shopping Centre or head directly home from the convoy.
What to Bring:
Comfortable shoes for walking on the winery grounds
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
Picnic supplies (optional)
Cash or card for wine purchases and small bites
Camera or phone for photos
Full tank of gas before departure
