**BRINGING BACK 4-WAY SCRAMBLES - IN HONOR OF MAD JOHN**
This event was switched up to be a "scrambles" event in honor of Mad John and his many endeavors over the years in holding countless events that generate enthusiasm and build skills for belly flyers. Lori Connor, NCSL League Director, fondly remembers her very first 4-way scrambles held by Mad John at Byron on her birthday 4/27/13, where her team won gold and she was the novice jumper on the team. It literally is what sparked her love of 4-way, so a big thanks to Mad John for always thinking of the newer jumpers and keeping them interested and engaged and loving our sport!
What are scrambles?
Scrambles are all about mixing it up with skill levels. Yes, this is THE opportunity for you seasoned jumpers to give back to the newer jumpers. Remember.....someone had to teach you what you know.... way back when! Also, newer jumpers, this is your opportunity to shine and fly like a rock star with all that experience flying with you!
What are the jumps and how do we win?
There will be 3 jumps and each round will have 3 formations and will be judged based on how many times each set can be completed in 35 seconds from leaving the aircraft. The team with the highest number of completed formations over 3 rounds win, followed by the second highest, third, and so on.
What is the team experience mix on each team?
Skygod (experienced 4-way competitor with 1000+ jumps)
Demi-god (advanced jumper with 500+ jumps)
Adolescent (intermediate jumper with 200-500 jumps}
Rookie (least experienced jumper with 75-200 jumps)
What is the cost?
The registration fee will be approximately $45 TBD, but firmed up a few days prior. Cost includes video and league fees. Scores and video will be submitted to the NSL and each team will have its own team page and the scores will be vetted against other leagues using the same draw. At this meet, the other league we are competing with is the Midwest Skydiving League whose meet will be at Chicagoland Skydiving.
