Toward the southwest end of McDade Trail, meetup at Riverview Trailhead on McDade Trail for a 3 or 4 mile walk/hike to Freeman Tract Road and back. Rated "easy" along this flat trail, estimated to take 90 minutes to walk round trip.
Optional, walk the spur up to Turn Farm. Round trip is about one mile. Rated "moderate", the spur to the farm is first up hill, then back down on the return. Add 30 minutes.
The parking lot for Riverview Trailhead is directly off River Road at mile 3.5. Careful, it's easy to miss. The lot is kind of small.
• From junction 209 and River Road (at Turkey Hill), take River Road towards Park Headquarters. Pass HQ and proceed another two miles on River Road to Riverview Trailhead parking lot.
• From Shawnee, take River Road into DWGNRA. Riverview Trailhead parking lot is about 5 miles from the playhouse.
(Also, be aware that some mapping programs misidentify the location of Riverview Trailhead, confusing it with Bushkill Meeting Center which is about four miles away! Use the info provided here instead. The trailhead is off River Rd, NOT US-209.)
