Meetup at Jerry Lees for a mostly flat, 4½ mile walk/hike to Trail Mile 18 and back. With no trailhead near our turnaround point, we will approach it from the south on this walkabout. Rated "easy to moderate", the estimated time is 110+/- minutes.
Those wishing to walk a shorter trek may instead join us for the flattest half from Jerry Lees to "Contributors Campground" and back. This smaller hike is barely 1½ miles round-trip.
Jerry Lees Trailhead is accessible via the gravel road off of Federal Road (Route 209) at mile 8.1, immediately past the sign indicating the upcoming junction with Briscoe Mountain Rd. (See picture) Take the gravel road until you see the trailhead sign adjacent to the parking lot, about 400 yards off the main road.
