Buffalo hits the ice in Cross Checked, a bold new teen drama created by hometown filmmaker Haleigh Phillips. Set in the world of girls’ high school hockey, the show is a gritty coming of age story about resilience and ambition.
One of only two pilots selected for NYU’s prestigious Advanced TV program, Cross Checked was written, developed, and led by Phillips during her thesis year at Tisch School of the Arts, where she recently graduated from with honors. After a year of development and filming, including a final shoot in Buffalo, it’s coming home.
