James Shortland Trio @Uptown Jazz Cafe

After settling in to Melbourne James' now has the privilege of putting together his Piano trio, featuring some of Melbourne's finest jazz musicians.

Over the years, James has had the privilege of performing with and learning from many great Australian jazz legends, including Warwick Alder, Andrew Dickeson, Kevin Hunt, Dale Barlow and John Harkins. Highlights include performing with Warwick Alder’s Quintet at the Manly Jazz Festival.

Some of the influences you might hear in this trio stem from James' musical role-models such as, Oscar Peterson, Christian McBride, Ray Brown, Benny Green and Brad Mehldau. James' will present some of his favourite jazz standards and his original compositions.
