Acapelicans present: "First Take' by Roberta Flack -Thursday October 30 at Jazzlab - one night only

Sarah Liversidge, Carl Pannuzzo and Sime Nugent recreate and reimagine Roberta Flack's stunning debut album 'First Take' in its entirety with some relevant departures, to tell the full story of the landmark recording which propelled Roberta to popular and critical acclaim.

You might remember our version of The First Time ever I Saw Your Face, either a studio or live version. Well we thought why not celebrate the whole album that it came from?!

So you'll hear some classic Sarah, Sime and Carl as well as expanding beyond the Acapelicans' traditional format, some tasty instrumentation will be sparsely employed to bring light and air to this richly sensitive and arresting body of songs.
