About the event

25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

JOIN US! WALA is bringing together some of Melbourne´s leading musicians and Dancers for an explosive celebration.

𝙒𝘼𝙇𝘼 - 𝙄𝙨 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 have been performing in Australia, Africa, Europe and New Zealand for 25 years and are still continuing and evolving in sharing their 𝘎𝘢-𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘮𝘦 cultural history, stories, music and traditional dances. Gracing professional stages, festivals, venues, cultural institutions and schools.

WALA will bring to the stage a powerful performance of 10 Ghanaian drums, rarely seen or played in Australia. Their music, songs, and dances are a homage to their ancestors and cultural history, depicting the life and soul of their culture. Their music is a combination of traditional songs and rhythms fused with their own original arrangements, and highly energetic dancing. Their music repertoire will cover Ancestral Traditional music, Folk Palm Wine and Highlife songs.

In supporting the celebration of WALA´s achievements, the night will be a high energy night of fun, with a calibre of African musicians, drummers and dancers coming together to celebrate our African culture and life.
