8FF Spacefreak Album Launch

On Sat 9th August the launch of our new album Spacefreak will open up a portal to a multi-lingual genre-twirling world of dancing wonder in the Ballroom of Brunswick’s Quadraphonic Club.

With 14 years of maverick mayhem under their belt 8Foot Felix are deliciously seasoned joy-mongers. Spacefreak is our first studio album to be released since the epic Mad Isle took to the waves in 2016. From the kaleidoscopic title track - with its philosophical forays galloping over irresistible rhythms - to the dark metal quirk of Acht Fuß Felix, producer Erik Parker has distilled the wild live presence of 8Foot Felix excellently into this sonic masterpiece, which is being pressed on to vinyl in time for the launch. In turn we are going honour this feat by bringing every ounce of that presence to the Quad Club Ballroom stage on this very special night!

Getting the launch party started will be the stripey, strange, swinging circus party band for the ages that is Ungus Ungus Ungus. Expect sharp turns a-plenty as their music leaps from psychedelic ska to salty shanties and beyond. Roll up for a sprawling collective of creative carnies: the rambunctious ringleader, the dynamite dancer, the wild pack of horns. A riot of rhythm and revelry to lead us all on an unforgettable euphoric adventure.

And with the deep juicy beats of our special guest DJ reconstituting your skin and dancing bones after all that happy havoc, this will be a night that leaves you transformed.
