The Free Black Women's Library Reading Room
226 Marcus Garvey Blvd, Brooklyn, United States
One of the most common roadblocks for Black women writers, or women and gender non-conforming experiences is first recognizing that their memories and experiences matter. In this three-part journey with author Morgan Jerkins, students will learn about the formation of memory, how to engage with their trauma, and the ways in which we navigate the world that keep us safe, whole (or fragmented), and most of all, human.
Also check out other Arts events in Brooklyn, Workshops in Brooklyn, Literary Art events in Brooklyn.
Tickets for “The Art of Being Alive”: A Personal Narrative Workshop by Morgan Jerkins can be booked here.
