Build and Fly a Simple Wood Model Airplane - family friendly!

Learn to build a rubber-powered balsa wood model airplane using craft skills and laser-cut parts. We will also learn some background on how flight works and share more complex designs!

This 3-hour workshop will involve building a structure from balsa wood parts using glue and a building board, covering the structure with tissue paper and a glue stick, trimming the tissue and finally assembling the plane and adjusting for flight. All materials will be provided at the space and no experience is necessary (but is also welcome!)

All participating kiddos must be 8 years and up.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:

Oliver Sand is an instructor at Makerspace who enjoys building projects with laser cutting, 3D printing, and CNC technologly. Oliver has been building model airplanes, kites, and other flying things for 10+ years and enjoys sharing projects and hearing what other people are working on.

REFUNDS / CANCELATIONS:

If we cancel, we will refund you and notify you. You may cancel and get a refund up to three days before the class. After that, refunds are contingent on us being able to fill your seat. Under no circumstances do we offer refunds to individuals who cancel on the same day. This ruins the party for everyone. In the event that you cancel, Eventbrite fees are non-refundable.
