A course to develop the skills and knowledge required to work within the childcare sector [0-5years] and achieve the qualification Level 1 Award Caring for Children
Learning Outcomes:
Describe what is involved in caring for children and list 4 things that influence growth and development
from ages 0-5.
Explain how organisations can support children and their rights.
Demonstrate verbal and non-verbal communication methods and how to use them with ages 0-5 years.
State how children 0-5 years learn and develop.
Illustrate 3 types of stories and rhymes suitable for children 0-5 years.
Recognise the importance of valuing and respecting children 0-5 years.
Define how to ensure the welfare and safety of children 0-5 years.
Research a chosen vocational area for your own development.
This course will take place on Thursdays - 18th September 2025 - 29th January 2026
This course is open to learners aged 19 years plus (in August ’25) wanting to start a career in Childcare
