“Fantastic! So much fun and some really gruesome stories!” -Livvy Haydock, BBC GANGSTER
“best walking tour I’ve ever done” -@WeirdBristol Twitter
“uncanny & macabre, cracking script, consummate performer” -Bristol Life Mag
It’s 40 years since the Brinks Mat robbery, a core story in BLOOD AND BUTCHERY IN BEDMINSTER. BBC Sounds new podcast GANGSTER THE STORY OF JOHN PALMER features our tour. And THE GOLD, a new BBC drama, also tells the story. Our tour includes Palmer’s business premises, the bank where millions were handed over, and Palmer’s pub, converted to celebrate his success.
Extraordinary forgotten places where amazing things happened: grave robbers and body snatchers; concrete coffins and hanging judges; a man-eating lion; one of the world’s greatest impostors –and those missing millions from Britain’s biggest robbery. By the end of the tour Bedminster will never seem the same again.
Outdoor walking tour, lasts approx. 2 hours, route approx 1 mile, make you own way back. Easy walking, mainly flat, regular pauses with outdoor seating & toilets at The Steam Crane half way round. Full risk assessment done.
Advance booking (possibly tickets ‘on the door’ –cash only– but regularly sells out).
Awards include Best Live Performance, Creative Bath Awards; Best of Bristol: Theatre, Bristol24/7
Our tour features in the BBC Sounds podcast GANGSTER: THE STORY OF JOHN PALMER. Presenter Livvy Haydock came to Bedminster to record it and you can hear the trailer on BBC Sounds.
