Shannon Marshall is one of the city’s coolest & captivating musicians. A soulful vocalist who blows the trumpet and flugelhorn like no-one else, he has performed with many national and international stars including Megan Hilty (USA), John Barrowman (USA), Eli Paperboy Reed (USA), Melinda Schneider, Emma Pask, Hugh Sheridan, Kate Ceberano, Tom Burlinson, David Campbell and James Morrison’s Funk Show, just to name a few.
On Friday 30th May, Shannon will be performing a seriously groovy selection of his favourite Jazz and Soul classics (and maybe a couple of originals thrown in for good measure) with a fresh line-up of his long-standing band, the Souls Almighty. Featuring the virtuosic Dancin’ Dale Rabic on the Hammond organ, vintage Wurlitzer and Pedal Bass, the fabulous Dave Longo on Guitar and the mighty Paul ‘The Hitman’ Hudson on Drums, Shannon leads this band of powerhouse musicians through deep musical waters. Don’t miss this rare treat to hear these four amazing musicians on stage together as they have been summoned to the bandstand from far and wide to perform for one night only, right here at the Brisbane Jazz Club.
