Pontifical Evensong with Bishop Lopes: Sept. 20

All are welcome to join us for the first stage of our Bishop's Pastoral Visit to St. John's. The Most Reverend Steven J. Lopes, Bishop of the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, will officiate a choral Evensong: the Ordinariate's form of Vespers (Evening Prayer), following the tradition of the Anglican Patirmony now within the communion of the Catholic Church. Evensong begins at 5:30 PM on Saturday, September 20.

Our parish welcomes an ensemble of guest singers under the direction of Dr. Graham Bier to enhance our worship with some of the great choral arrangements of our patrimony, including:
-Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in G by Sir Charles Villiers Stanford
-Anthem: "Bring us, O Lord God" by Sir William H. Harris
-Salve Regina a 5, by Peter Philips

His Excellency will also celebrate our parish's usual Sunday Mass at 10 AM on the following day, September 21. All are welcome to attend either or both events.
