Join me for an hour of relaxing sound therapy inside the Oak Lodge at High Lodge, in the heart of Thetford Forest, surrounded by the trees.
This sound bath is offered as part of the 'Wellness Wednesdays' - quarterly offerings aligned with each season of the year. Forest Bathing (mindfulness in nature) is offered in the morning from 10 am until 12pm - this session is bookable separately.
During a sound bath you simply lay or sit comfortably and listen to a short, guided meditation followed by the evocative sounds of the instruments, which may transport you to a place of deep rest and relaxation.
.
Instruments used can include drums, percussion, crystal singing bowls, monochord, gongs, chimes and himalayan singing bowls. These are played in a therapeutic style and order to encourage your brainwaves to slow down, often inducing a deeply restful state similar to meditation or deep relaxation, you may even find that you fall asleep.
This session offers:
A live and immersive instrumental soundscape.
A supportive space for rest (or sleep if that is what is needed.)
Time for yourself away from demands of everyday life and technology.
Opportunity to tune in to your inner voice and needs.
Potential benefits for you:
Regulation of your nervous system.
Processing of thoughts and emotions.
Deep and restorative relaxation.
Release of stress, muscular tension and/or stuck emotions.
Insights, creativity and accessing intuition.
A better night's sleep.
The session is one hour long and you have the option to book a forest bathing session before the sound bath which is bookable separately.
For these events site entry and parking is reduced to just £4 and your parking is valid all day.
Considerations - A sound meditation is relaxing and restful for many guests; however, sound is powerful and has the potential to evoke memories and stir emotions. With this in mind, coming to a sound bath may not be suitable for you if you experience any of the following: sound induced epilepsy, have an implanted medical device including pacemaker, cochlear implant, or deep brain stimulator, acute/severe mental health concerns, are in crisis currently or experiencing active addiction, Meniere's disease, sound hypersensitivity or any health condition triggered by sound, or if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy.
It is also common to drift to sleep at times in a sound bath, so if you suffer from sleep apnoea a group session is likely not the best way to experience sound – in this instance please get in touch with the facilitator for a confidential discussion before you book.
Please do not attend if you have a contagious illness, thank you.
Feel free to reach out in confidence and check if you are unsure about whether this session is right for you by emailing
