The month of August is Overdose Awareness Month. The month is used to promote prevention efforts, education, and access to support and treatment.
It honors lives lost to overdose and supports those still struggling with substance use, as well as those in recovery.
Here are some of the ways you can participate:
- Host or attend memorial events, Naloxone training, community BBQs, or fundraisers.
- Share stories of hope and healing.
- Partner with organizations to provide education on safe use, overdose prevention, and recovery pathways.
- Light a candle or wear purple to show support.
Please feel free to share other ways we can participate in this important cause
