The annual Spruce Woods Star Party (SWSP) is the Centre's biggest event for members and their families. Held under the dark skies of Manitoba's first Dark Sky Preserve, SWSP is a weekend of camping and stargazing with fellow amateur astronomers.
There is a binocular tour, a tour of other participants' gear, giveaways, a presentation, swap meet, observing, and lots of opportunities to socialize with other members in Manitoba's only Dark Sky Preserve.
This is a members-only event, so ensure that your memberships are paid up when you register - visit rasc.ca to join RASC or to renew your membership !
The cost is $40 per person for ages 13 and up,. Age 12 and under family members get in free.

The 2025 event includes 2 nights of camping and observing (bring your own camping and observing gear). As with last year's event and by popular demand, a hot pancake breakfast on the morning of Sunday, August 24 for everyone attending, and a collectible pin is provided to all paid attendees.
No park vehicle permit is required for this event and no pets are allowed (sorry, fellow pet-lovers).Space, as always, is limited.
