A beautiful and connective way to end the week - bathing in the sights, sounds and sensory delights of the forest. This is a 90 minute guided mindfulness in nature experience with a trained and qualified Forest Bathing Guide. Practices can include gentle movement, breathing exercises, guided mindfulness, seasonal reflections, and sensory exploration of the forest. We will move slowly and enjoy a slower pace - the pace of nature.
Forest Bathing is the English translation of the Japanese term ‘Shinrin-yoku’. To better understand this concept, it means ‘spending quality time, fully immersed in the forest atmosphere, under the canopy of trees, for health and wellbeing purposes.
Our session will conclude with a herbal 'forest' tea infusion and snacks and optional sharing to enhance the experience and connection within the group. It take place outdoors, in the forest in all weathers (**except unsafe conditions such as high winds or storms.)
We can walk around one mile in these sessions, albeit at a slow pace and with multiple rests (seated or standing.) Please advise well in advance of the session if you have any mobility restrictions or concerns about this movement through the woods.
Science based evidence shows that Forest Bathing can potentially:
Normalise blood pressure
Lower stress and anxiety levels
Improve concentration and memory
Ease feelings of depression
Reduce chronic pain
Improve energy
Boost the immune system
