We’re thrilled to have Jessica Peña Heberle as our exhibiting artist for CDCP x WCDC Present: Art All Over. Join us on Saturday, June 28 from 12-3pm at the WCDC's Lohr Gallery for the artist reception, where Jessica will be in the gallery with us to chat about her work in the show. Free food and drinks will be provided.
Jessica Peña Heberle is a multidisciplinary artist from Erie, PA. She lives and works in her home studio in Wilkinsburg, PA. Her art process includes painting, drawing, comics, zines, art books, and found objects.
Jessica’s paintings depict figures interacting with natural settings such as bodies of water, forests, trees, and rock formations. In these spaces, figures within a given composition exist in an in-between state between intimacy and detachment. They are concerned with their incorporeal self, personal narrative, and the spaces they inhabit. These scenes, process such issues as anxiety, loneliness, violence to the body, and the power of the unconscious mind.
Jessica’s pieces are unplanned, and emerge from a space of not knowing and uncertainty. This exploration of layering multiple mediums on paper creates texture and movement within each piece and is a key component to her studio process. The art mediums vary and include watercolor, gouache, inks, colored pencil and graphite.
The show will be open to the public every other Saturday from 12-5 pm on the following dates:
