WE ARE BACK AGAIN WITH THE MTG PRIDE EVENT THIS YEAR!!!
Wizards of the Coast have once again sanctioned a Pride event where you can use any two (Commander-legal) legendary creatures as commanders! Just like last year, we're adding our own special twist on the event.
Welcome to the DMIG 2025 Pride Commander Special! For this event, you will only be able to use cards that have a TCG near-mint, English printing at market value $20.00 and under. To account for market fluctuations, so long as a card hits that $20 mark any time between now (May 13th, 2025) and 11:59 p.m. the day before the event (Friday, July 27th, 2025, it is legal for this event. This also counts for presale prices (re: Final Fantasy). EXCEPTIONS: All tri-lands from Ikoria and New Capenna, and all fetch lands are legal for this event. We understand that it would not be fair for only half of the fetch lands and not all of the triomes to be playable for this event. All shock lands currently have printings under $20 as of time of writing, so those are in the clear!
You can have a maximum of TWO legendary creatures in the command zone and a maximum of ONE background in the command zone (if one or both of your commanders say Choose a Background).
For this event, if you decide to use any canonically LGBTQ characters (don't worry, we've compiled a list) as one of your commanders, you will get a bonus promo card. Please note that you are not obligated to choose LGBTQ characters as commanders for this event! We encourage you to pick your silliest combinations of characters and build the goofiest deck.
Prizing will be based on number of attendees. We will have stickers again this year!
We will have deli fare (and maybe even some sweet treats!) catered for this event! Think hoagies, finger foods, and so on.
