In this special collaborative workshop, Alicia and Til are excited to bring together their decades of experience in bodywork (Til) and Contact Improvisation (Alicia) to discover how combining these disciplines can open up new options for our moving, dancing, sensing and being.
They write: “This eighth workshop in our collaboration focuses on fascia—the body’s largest sensory organ, yet one of its most misunderstood.
Fascia is everywhere—and yet, not always clearly perceived. Rich with nerve endings, it shapes our internal experience of motion, connection, and support. It can spring, glide, and stretch—or hold, bind, and restrict. Fascia supports reaching, yielding, and bearing weight through its living, responsive web—a system of tensegrity (tensional integrity) that is always adapting to the moment.
And yet, fascia is often spoken of vaguely, mythologized, or misinterpreted. In this experiential workshop, we bring fresh eyes, hands, and movement to fascia’s deep intelligence—drawing on the latest anatomical understanding, while listening with our moving bodies. Through hands-on, solo, and shared movement explorations, we’ll attune to fascia’s subtle sensing and resilient strength—deepening and expanding our felt sense, our knowledge, and our ways of moving.”
