BioFrontiers faculty member Jennifer Hill talks about "How Microbes Could Fight Childhood Diabetes". Although the influence of the microbes that live on and in us is extensive, a large percentage of microbial genomes are unexplored, often termed “microbial dark matter.” The Hill Lab has identified specific microbes that can promote insulin-producing beta-cell development in the infant pancreas. They hope to leverage these findings to develop novel approaches to prevent or reverse diabetes.
Doors will open at 5:45 pm and talks begin at 6:00 pm. A social reception will follow at 7:00 pm. Visit the BioFrontiers Presents website for more information!
