Learn how to skate with Tilted Thunder Roller Derby in this 6-week training program from June 16th to July 26th! This camp is intended for beginner to intermediate level skaters and no experience is necessary. We will train you on stops and falls, agility and maneuvering, and basic blocking and jamming skills. Have no idea what that means? It's okay, we'll teach you everything! This training camp will culminate in a learning scrimmage (positional blocking only) with TTRD skaters to help guide you through, and all campers are allowed to bring 1 guest to the scrimmage. During this program we will train your skills within the context of the RDCL rule set which is the rule set used for banked track roller derby (though this camp will take place on a flat surface).
Training times are Mondays 7:30-9:30pm at the Retreat at Bothell (18101 126th Ave NE, Bothell, WA) and Saturdays 7:30-9am at Lynnwood Bowl & Skate beginning on June 16th and ending on July 26th.
This camp is open to women and non-binary people who are comfortable in an environment that centers women, and who are 18+ years of age. Full derby gear (listed below) is required to participate as is some form of personal insurance coverage. Loaner gear is available on a limited basis and will be reserved first for those with traditionally marginalized identities. If you are in need of loaner gear, please reach out to Scardew Valley at
