Did you know that nearly 40 miles of the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) run through Maryland, most of it tracing the scenic ridgeline of South Mountain? Whether you're planning your first trek or your next one, we’d love to help you explore the area’s incredible overlooks and historic sites—perfect for challenging day hikes and unforgettable views.

• Gathland State Park to Weverton Cliffs
To kick off the hiking season, the Boonsboro Appalachian Trail Community invites all to a special meet-and-greet with this season’s PATC MD Ridgerunner Meet and Greet. Trail Ridgerunner. Josh Sheets “Soulslosher” and Dillon Utter “Dreamsicle will be our guest for the evening to answer questions and share stories about their experience on the A.T.
