Universe in the Park: Zach Lewis and Jodie Kiyokawa for Blue Mound State Park

Join presenter Zach Lewis on June 21, 2025, at 8:00 PM at Blue Mound State Park for Universe in the Park. Enjoy a 30–40 minute astronomy talk at sunset followed by telescope viewing, weather permitting. Great for ages 8+ (talk) and 4+ (viewing).

Presenter Zach Lewis is a graduate student in astronomy at UW-Madison. His research focuses on the evolution of elements inside galaxies. He uses JWST observations of distant galaxies to characterize how stars produce elements and eject them into their host galaxy, and how those elements then escape the galaxy or form new stars.
