The Writers Guild at Bloomington presents Last Sunday Poetry, featuring Zach Hannah and Su Flatt from Columbus OH.
ZACH HANNAH is an Appalachian expat originally from Portsmouth OH, now residing in Columbus, OH. A poet, an instigator of poetry, and one half of the SandWitch Arts duo, alongside Su Flatt, Zach has taken notes from the creativity and vision of the now retired Writers' Block Open Mic, producing and co-producing several public events centered around poetry, including the now annual megaphone reading, SHHH, They'll Hear You, and 6-1-FORT, A Poetic Excuse (to build poetry forts, of course). He is also the 2nd resident for the Johnstone Fund For New Music.
SU FLATT has been writing poetry since before they could speak, which would be impressive if they hadn't spoken so late. They teach English Composition, British Literature, Shakespeare, and Creative Writing at Columbus State Community College. Along with Zach Hannah, they are one half of the production company / micropress / mischief making dream idea that is SandWitch Arts.

Su Flatt and Zach Hannah's much-anticipated debut collection of poems is a testament to the many loves they share: to poetry, to memory, and most importantly, to each other.
"Anyone who has ever loved another human being can find some piece of themselves, and of that loving, here inside this book. Su Flatt and Zach Hannah are masters of their craft, to be sure. These poems—whether read in black ink on paper or backlit blipdigits—contain all the sonic technicolor and artisanal wordplay, expansive neologisms and dimewise turns of phrase a connoisseur of wordsmithery could ever hope to find. But what matters most in these poems, as in the day to day living of love, is all the little stuff. Su and Zach are here remind us that the power of poetry is relational—that in crafting words, as in crafting our lives together, what matters most, beyond comfort, beyond even care and concern, is connection, communion, and co-evolution."
