[FREE] Official Sun Ra Day Afterparty

Please join us for a very special afterparty at Saturn on Thursday, May 22nd to help celebrate Sun Ra's 111th birthday and the official creation of Sun Ra Day here in Birmingham, Alabama!!! To help honor the occasion, and the historic series of concerts and events taking place around the city with Sun Ra's Arkestra from May 21-24, we'll be hosting a late-night concert following the Arkestra's performance at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame featuring the cross-cultural trio of Vishnu, Davis and Haleigh offering their unique improvisational blend of Appalachian folk, jazz and Indian classical music, plus the post-jam/cinematic prog rock/dystopian sludge jazz of Kirkos. Music starts at 10:30 and the event is free and open to the public!!! Hope to see you there!
