French classical dressage: lateral work DEMO

Have you ever struggled in your lateral work to know where your horses legs should be going let alone your own?! Or starting laterals with your young horse and don’t what to do first? Or maybe you have an experienced horse who struggles with certain lateral movements- getting tense or losing impulsion for example.

This demo will show how to introduce lateral movements to your horse and how to correct common problems.

Starting lateral movements with your horse from the ground has many advantages such as the horse not having to balance themselves with the riders weight, and the rider being able to teach the horse more clearly what they are going to ask from the saddle.

There will be a mixture of different horses as the approach is different depending on conformation.
The demonstration will be presented by Ellie King, a trainee teacher with the Ecole de Légèreté - a French classical dressage school founded by Philippe Karl, whose focus is education where the horse is put first.
Please bring a chair, there will be light refreshments, from which all proceeds will go to charity.
