Visible Mending Workshop “Art on Broken Pieces”

We are excited to offer an embroidery on denim workshop “Art on Broken Pieces” with Stefanija from Damaja studio at our first Repair Deal Pop-Up event. Stefanijas work explores current social and cultural topics through a blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics and conscientious attention to detail.

During this workshop you will get to know the foundations of hand embroidery, visible mending and upcycling techniques. We offer you the opportunity to start your own hand embroidery project and get one-on-one support from Stefanija. A variety of templates to choose from will be prepared in case of a creative bottleneck.

Please note that this event will take place in English and that you need to bring your own denim piece to embellish. All other materials will be provided, so you can just be creative.

About the Solstice Project

We as Circular Berlin are testing an innovative repair bonus system for denim pants in cooperation with the denim brand DAWN and with other fashion brands and repair service providers. The pilot project is being implemented and evaluated as part of Circular Berlin's SOLSTICE project, which is funded by the European Union. The aim is to make repairing easier, more attractive and more rewarding for customers, retailers and repairers, as well as to promote climate- and resource-friendly practices in the use of textiles. Kommt vorbei zu unserem ersten Repair Deal Pop-Up Event! Bei unserem Visible Mending Workshop „Art on Broken Pieces“ mit Stefanija vom Damaja Studio könnt ihr einmalige Einblicke in die Techniken der Handstickerei bekommen und lernt, wie ihr eure kaputte Kleidung in kleine Kunstwerke verwandeln könnt. Stefanija verbindet dabei traditionelle Handarbeit mit modernen Einflüssen und regt zum Nachdenken über Mode, Kultur und Nachhaltigkeit an.

In diesem Workshop lernt ihr die Grundlagen der Handstickerei und spannende Upcycling-Techniken kennen. Wir bieten euch die Möglichkeit, euer eigenes Stick-Projekt zu starten und dabei von Stefanija persönlich unterstützt zu werden. Für den Fall einer kreativen Blockade, werden wir euch einige Vorlagen zur Verfügung stellen, sonst sind eurer Kreativität keine Grenzen gesetzt.

Bitte beachtet, dass diese Veranstaltung in Englisch stattfindet und ihr euer eigenes Denim-Stück zum Verzieren mitbringen müsst. Alle anderen Materialien werden von uns zur Verfügung gestellt, so dass ihr einfach kreativ sein könnt.

Über das Solstice-Projekt

Wir als Circular Berlin testen in Kooperation mit der Denim-Marke DAWN sowie mit anderen Modemarken und Reparatur Dienstleistern ein innovatives Reparatur-Bonussystem für Jeanshosen. Ziel ist es, dass Reparieren einfach, attraktiv und lohnend wird.
