Chilean choreographer Felipe Fizkal invites you into a space that comes alive through sensory exchange with its visitors. The rhythm of cumbia, the sweat, and the farmers' calls echo and evoke the precarious environments of the Global South.
Here, the performers' presence becomes a seismic event, leading to the discovery of contemporary ritual expressions and subcultural practices from the Global South.
SUR evokes a version of the Global South shaped by mixed and melted cultural expressions from Latin America. The audience is invited to experience space through their senses. This sonic landscape transforms the architecture and its design, generating a ritual ceremony where joy, flirting, ease, and the ability to celebrate from within our precarity create a seismic relationship between dancers, space, sound, and spectators. Cumbia, tender empowering catwalks, and the calls of arrieros.
